A typical room includes an adjustable bed with linens, bedside stand, closet, and a bathroom. Each room may be individually decorated and many have a view of the expansive, park-like grounds. All have large window areas making the room bright and cheery. Residents are encouraged to bring in family photos and other small items or memorabilia, as well as their favorite quilt or afghan. We have a sheltered courtyard for outdoor seating and assorted lawn and garden chairs around the grounds to enjoy our lovely setting.

Staff nurses provide clinical assessment, medication administration, wound treatment, IV therapy, dementia care, and palliative end-of-life care. Staff nurses maintain open communication with attending physicians to allow prompt intervention as resident conditions may change. The nursing staff includes RNs, LPNs, and Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs).

Residents love our home-cooked foods that are served buffet style. Starting with our happy hostess, meals are presented restaurant style. Residents may choose from a menu of two well-balanced entrées which include choice of vegetable, fruit, bread, beverage, dessert, plus salads, soups, and sandwiches upon request. Favorites include our Wednesday breakfast waffle bar, ice-cream socials and special holiday meals chosen by the residents. Please let us know if you will be staying for a meal; guests are welcome to join residents anytime for a nominal fee.

Our Therapy staff work with our Physicians, Nursing and support staff to restore health and gain independence to our residents in preparation for their return home or to care for themselves within our facility. Physical Therapy will work with improving strength, endurance, balance and mobility. Occupational Therapy focuses on dressing, bathing, toileting, feeding and home management skills. Speech Therapy addresses communication skills, memory, decision making skills, along with swallowing/eating difficulties and establishes the appropriate diet.
Our therapy team develops individual rehabilitation plans for each resident, then tracks their progress, and discusses therapeutic goals with each resident’s family. In addition, our nursing, activity, and social services teams work closely with our therapists to ensure that each resident receives coordinated attention designed to help them improve throughout everyday of their stay.

A physician or nurse practitioner is in our building two days per week and are on call 24/7. They visit our residents to assess any needs or concerns. The physician or nurse practitioner also make themselves available to our nursing staff and residents’ families to answer any questions and discuss any medical issues.

As an adjunct to skilled therapy, restorative therapy offers services to promote independence. We have programs for Activities of Daily Living (ADL), ambulation, transfers, incontinence, range of motion exercises and restorative dining.

Our residents have therapeutic and interesting activities scheduled and available seven days per week, throughout the day, as well as in the evening. These activities are based on current resident interests and previously enjoyed leisure pursuits, lifestyles, and hobbies.
Our residents enjoy getting out of the building, whether it’s to go to the Senior Citizens’ Center, experience a Christmas light or fall color tour, have a picnic at the park, go to the zoo, or even a casino trip. Many activities and outings are based on our residents’ ideas. Learn more about our activities and outings on the Life at MediLodge page.
